N E Lincs Council’s specialist health promotion team release Healthy Workplace App

A personal health and well-being app has been launched this month by North East Lincolnshire Council’s specialist health promotion team. It has been developed in partnership with Leeds Metropolitan University to support the Council’s Healthy Workplace Programme.

The app is packed with useful information about all of the factors that affect the health and well-being of employees and their families and includes sections on everything from stress to childcare, healthy eating to coping with grief, exercise to personal debt.

To use the free app simply go to www.nelhwp.co.uk and register as an individual in the ‘staff registration’ area where instructions for downloading it are available.

It is easy and free to register for the Healthy Workplace Programme website and it is suitable for any individual of working age in North East Lincolnshire.

One of the Council’s key priorities is to improve the health and well-being of everyone in the area. People spend a lot of time at work and if we can give businesses the tools to encourage their employees to live healthier lifestyles it could mean lower employee absence, greater job satisfaction and improved staff retention.”

Lesley Mosley, HR advisor at Shoreline Housing Partnership said

“As we move forward with mobile working solutions, this app makes perfect sense. Employees can readily access information about local organisations and information which can support them in improving their health and well-being, which they can also share with colleagues, friends and customers too.”

To find out more about the support and services available from the Healthy Workplace Programme see their website at www.nelhwp.co.uk or e-mail info@nelhwp.co.uk .
