All at Sea in N E Lincs Libraries!

All at Sea is a nautical-themed arts and literature festival offering a variety of author talks, art workshops for children and adults, exhibitions, theatre, music and poetry.

The festival’s official launch is taking place on Friday, March 1, at Cleethopes Library with a photographic exhibition by Cleethorpes Camera Club exploring the themes of sea, coast and all things nautical.

This is swiftly followed on Saturday, March 2, by a talk and book signing with co-author of the River Cottage Fish Book, Nick Fisher at the Fishing Heritage Centre.

In the weeks to follow there will be talks by local authors such as Nick Triplow, Dean Williams and Margaret Dickinson to name but a few. Music and poetry from John Conolly, Gordon Wilson and Merlins Keep, art workshops and demonstrations with Peter Wood and Linda Ingham as well as Children’s activities and performances of Treasure Island by the Pendle Theatre company.

There will be plenty of drama for a more adult audience too; Monday March 11, will see the launch of Breakwater Theatre Company at the Beach Restaurant, which will feature new writing for the stage by some of the region’s most talented and prolific playwrights.

The festival finale will take the form of three 15 minute plays at the Fishing Heritage Centre with Slung Low, one of the countries most up and coming theatre companies who specialise in performances outside of conventional theatre spaces.
