Chewing gum will be removed from paving slabs, lamp posts and other areas down Victoria Street, Grimsby next week.
North East Lincolnshire Council is carrying out the work between 3am and 7am for approximately five mornings, starting on Monday, March 18.
A process to remove compacted chewing gum takes place annually in an effort to keep the town centre clean and fresh and will be followed by a ‘deep clean’ of the paving slabs using a high pressured jet.
Workmen will begin early in the morning in an effort to minimise disruption, starting from Old Market Place. They will work eastwards along Victoria Street West and will eventually meet the junction with George Street.
