Meniscus Community Film Society welcomes entries into the 2013 Meniscus short film festival.

The theme of the festival is equalities and diversity, prejudice and discrimination or bullying. This can be interpreted in any way, but there must be a clear link.

Examples of topics include, but are not limited to, prejudice or discrimination based on age, disability, gender reassignment, marriage and civil partnership, pregnancy and maternity, race, religion and belief, sex, or sexual orientation.

Entries are welcome from the following age categories:

  • Entry through an education establishment: Primary
  • Entry through an education establishment: Secondary
  • Entry through an education establishment: Further / Higher Education / School sixth form
  • Other: private entrants aged 7 and above, not submitted through an education establishment

Films should be a maximum of ten minutes. They can be any genre including, but not limited to, fiction, documentary or animation.

The deadline for submissions is 30th April 2013, with films screened at the Meniscus Short Film Festival in Summer 2013.

Films will be judged by an independent panel. A small prize (yet to be determined) will be awarded to the winning film in each category.

The film competition is being run in conjunction with Safer and Stronger Communities, North East Lincolnshire Council, Franklin College and Grimsby Institute of Further and Higher Education.
